Bronze Credit Card Day December 3, 2009
Yesterday was the first of our school Behaviour Credit Card Days. The vast majority of the school who have behaved well this term and recieved their Bronze award were invited to a cinema afternoon in the hall wearing their own clothes. Mr. Kirkpatrick even told the children that they could bring in a chocolate bar too! So much for being a ‘Healthy School!’
Everyone had a great time and it was well deserved!
Learn about the Tudors October 23, 2009
This term year 4 have been studying the Tudors, they have found it to be far more exciting than they ever realised history could be.
As year 4 just couldn’t get enough of the Tudors, we have created an online learning experience, where the children can complete activities, play fun games and extend their knowledge of the Tudors.
Above each image or title you will find some notes and links each of which, when clicked on, will take you to some terrific Tudor sites.
Year 4 have been learning about the Tudor times October 9, 2009
Year 4 had a very exciting vist from Sir John Radcliff, Mary and Ruth their housekeeper at Ordsall Hall.
Sir John, Mary and Ruth explained all about the Tudor Monarchs.
Then we played guess the artifact, which was lots of fun and very interesting.
What do you think these items were used for?
We had lots of fun, but Sir John, Mary and Ruth had to return to Ordsall Hall to get ready for a banquet.
Before they left, Mary told us how Tudors used to get rid of bad smells.
They made pomanders, we decided to make some.
The children used oranges and cloves to make pomanders.
It was a bit tricky, but our classroom smells amazing!

Eight children from years 4,5 & 6 have started going to the Water Sports Centre on a Tuesday evening. This week was kayaking – next week; sailing.
Karate!! March 17, 2009
Year 4 have been lucky enough to be selected to try out some karate taster sessions. Amanda and two of her assistants came in to show the children how to do karate blocks and kicks. (Year 4 I’m sure you know the correct words!!) The children really enjoyed the session and are very much looking forward to next week.
