Dear Parents/Carers, Children, Staff and Governors,

I am writing to tell you about the continuing excellent performance of the school in terms of children’s academic achievements at the end of Key Stage Two.   As you may have heard, last years tests were surrounded by controversy and some of the data from these tests taken last May has only just been released.

I am pleased to report that our results for children’s achievement are excellent.   This means that if you take all the schools in the country from the poorest performing schools where children do not make expected progress, to the highest performing schools where children make more than expected progress, Charlestown ranks  in the top 10%.

This is the result of the hard work of the children, the excellent teaching and support from all the staff and governors and the support that you provide your children with homework and reading at home.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for this outstanding achievement.

Yours sincerely,

Mr D Gauld.
