Hi everybody!  Hope that you’ve all had a really good time playing out in the snow.   If you’re looking for something to do today have a look at the links that I’ve set up for you.

Our topic this term is all based around making Dance music.  We’re going to be making our own tracks and producing an album hopefully.   You’re also going to have to  write instructions for others on how to do it.  To get you started I’ve put together some videos that show how dance music has changed over the last 100 years or so.   Your instructions are as follows:

  • Click the link below
  • Set the slider on the left to 25 years so that you can see all the videos
  • Click on the video that you want to watch.
  •  Leave a comment on this blog post saying the track that you liked the most, so that others can try to find it too! Try to say what it was about the music that you liked.

When you’ve done that have a go on Tutpup and see if you can get any more medals.   If you’ve got any problems just email me mrkp@mrkp.org.uk and I’ll try and get them sorted out for you.

PS: Thanks to all the teacher for getting these blogposts up so quickly!   Any comments from parent or children would be gratefully appreciated!

Hi Year 6,

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!  So Sorry the bad weather has delayed our return to school but don’t worry, we’ll be back at it very soon!  Hope you’ve had lots of fun in the snow without injury.

As you know, our target at the moment in Maths is to learn our times tables.  Please continue to do this a home and have a look on this link

http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/numbers/wholenumbers/multiplication/timestables/

it may make it a bit more fun!

You may also remember that our target in English has been to use paragraphs. This link maybe be useful to recap your memory, have a look…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/writing/paragraphs/

If you get really bored you may want to write an account of what you have been up to during your break, in paragraphs of course!  It would be great if you could also include some clauses….  such as:

I took my new bike, which is bright red and goes really fast, for a spin around the park.

Finally, I have been working on our new topic which is called ‘All at sea!’  I’ll keep you guessing on that one!  Have a think about what kind of things you would like to learn in this topic-ship wrecks, sea creatures, evolution, the oceans of the world? I look forward to hearing all your great ideas!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your extended holiday!

Mrs Batty

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all having lots of fun in the snow, can’t wait to hear all about it. If you’ve made any snowmen try and bring pictures of them into class for our Winter display. Hope you have stayed free from any injuries. I’ve been busy planning our topic around bears, particularly around Star and Barnaby Bear. Whilst we are off could you find and write about 5 facts you’ve learnt about bears. You could try looking on: http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/Animals/CreatureFeature/Brown-bear

Also we will be beginning work on learning our 2, 5, and 10 times tables and punctuation and sentence construction. To help you with these and working towards our targets you could look on

http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize/ it has lots of fun activities for you to do.

Enjoy the rest of the snow and hopefully see you all on Monday, can’t wait to hear all your news, maybe you could write me a small  report of your holidays and fun in the snow.

Miss Harris
