Charlestown Primary School

Learning Together in the 21st Century

All About Us December 11, 2008

Welcome

A welcome from the Head Teacher.

I am very pleased to be able to introduce you to Charlestown Community Primary School.

Ours is a small, one form entry school with a designated class size of 25 pupils per age group including a full time nursery.

Having taken up the post of Head Teacher of the school in September 2006, I am proud to say that we continue to strive towards achieving the full potential for each individual.  We aim to nurture and care for their well being to make the children who attend the school into the next generation of people of whom we can all be proud.

Our aim is always to work with parents and families for the good of the child.  Our OFSTED inspection in June 2007 awarded us the highest grade of OUTSTANDING overall. This means that you can be sure that we are always striving for the very best experience for your child.

We fully embrace the developments in education at the moment and I am confident that your child will experience a 21st Century education that is personalised for him or her.

My staff work incredibly hard on a day in day out basis and they will always make the opportunity to discuss your child’s education. I am always happy to discuss any matter with you. You may sometimes need to make an appointment but if I am available I will speak to you immediately.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Gauld

Head Teacher

As an educational consultant, I keep searching for model schools and Charlestown is one of those to provide great ideas on school management. Few immigrant Indians in the U.K. have approached me to build schools in India and I would recommend them all to visit Charlestown first.

  8. Hello to all at Charlestown Primary,

Firstly I would just like to say how impressed we were with your school and your attitude towards learning. Myself, Miss Bates and Miss Moss, all visited your school on Monday to see what great ideas you have in using ICT. We came away with loads of brilliant ideas so thank you!

Also if you would like to visit our school blog follow the link below http://www.sirjohnlillieprimaryschool.wordpress.com

We are still at the early stages of developing our blog, however if you have any ideas about this, they would be gratefully received!

    Thank you again,

    Mr Duffy,
    Sir John Lillie Primary

Been off school playing in the snow, building snowmen and going sledging but now want to get back to school. Charlestown school is great and I really like Miss Harris and Miss Jones.
