Hello, year one children,

I hope you’re enjoying the snow and that you haven’t hurt yourselves playing in it. I’ve been busy planning for our next topic, which has all to do with animals and is called ‘Fur, Feather, Skin and Scale’. I’m giving you some links to go to so you can do some activities at home whilst the snow stops us getting to school. I hope you enjoy them!

See you soon, Mrs Roberts

This will take you to where you can choose ‘short stories’ ,and then read ‘Ali and the Magic Carpet’. This will help you to see different regions of the world and what animals are there. Also, there are activities for you to do when you have read the story.

For practice with your Maths, go to the link below.  There are lots of fun activities here which will keep you busy and help you to hit your targets!

    Hello Mrs Roberts

We played outside in the snow, we made a snowman, we put some olives for the eyes and a carrot for the nose, we put sticks for the arms and we used my scarf.
We played a snowball fights with our freinds and I went to the Manchester eye with my dad, mum and my sisters, we saw all the town from the top, at the end we had beautiful pictures. It was a brillant day.

    Hello Sarah,
It sounds like you really enjoyed the snow! What a good idea to use olives for his eyes!
I haven’t been on the Manchester eye yet, but I can imagine the views must be quite spectacular.
Perhaps you could bring one or two of your photographs to school to show us?
I’m looking forward to seeing the ‘people’ you have made for your castle!
