We had our first Parent Council meeting on Friday, 13th November, 2009.  At the moment, we have four Parent Representatives – Gemma Brookes-Ryan, Helen Hepburn, Elina Parker and Kapila Wickramarachchi – together with myself, Sue Jones.

The Reps. want to be able to reach out to parents so that we can find out the issues that are concerning you about any aspect of school life and then to present these issues to the School Governors and the Management Team.

We are starting a ‘Drop-in’ facility this Friday (20th, November) at 8.45 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. whereby parents can come and have a chat to us.  We have also made a Suggestion Box, where suggestions may be entered into it (by post, email) so that parents can remain anonymous if they wish to.

We will also be getting involved in fund-raising activities.

We welcome any parent/carer to become a member of the Parent Council.  If you wish to join the team, please contact Mrs Jones at school.

We would welcome your comments and feedback relating to the Parent Council and it’s future developments.

  1. Gemma Brookes-Ryan Says:

    Hi Parents

You have probably seen the letter that was sent out from Mrs Jones about the Parent Council Meeting tomorrow night at 6pm. We would like as many parents as possible to attend. This will give you the opportunity to let us know as conerns you have. We can feed them back to school on your behalf.

We are also looking for some positive feedback about things that you feel work well at the school, the group are also interested in finding out if you would be interested in events that would help get parents together. These could be things like classes, prize bingo etc. Any ideas greatly recevied!!

Hope you can make it tomorrow.
