A very austere experience. I really enjoyed coming into class with the ‘punishment book’. Mrs Priestly found the book; it dates back to the 1940’s way before Charlestown existed. Some of the punishments seem really harsh – ‘talking in class; two strokes on the hand!’ Of course we would never use physical punishment these days – it was banned ages ago.
