Today I watched our children in set 5 using skipping to learn their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

Mrs Ferry and Mrs Phillingham swung the skipping rope and each child had to skip while everybody chanted.   It was a great lesson and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

What a fabulous idea for teaching tables! I will need to try it with my own class. Have you seen the excellent Timez Attack by bigbrainz.com? It’s pretty good too.

It’s great to hear about peope having fun in maths. It was my favourite subject at school and I like to find out about new maths games to try.
