Greek Story Telling October 12, 2009

This post is a little later than expected due to technical difficulties, many thanks to Mr Burrows for sorting it out!

Last week we looked at the way in which Greek stories were passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth.   We tried in our groups to find out about the legend of Daedelus and Icarus which was great fun in itself.   We then tried to retell this story in our own words.   This was much more difficult than you would think!   Here are our attempts, we hope that you can follow the story!

Punctuation Madness September 11, 2009

This week we have been looking at Greek Myths and legends as part of our new topic.   We’ve read all about Theseus and the Minotaur and Perseus and the fearsome Gorgon Medusa.   As part of our Literacy we decided to ‘act out’ the punctuation from sections iof the story to show just how much punctuation we need to include in our own writing next week.

We look rather silly doing it, but it’s made us realise how many of those little marks we need to include to be understood.   Here are our videos – apologies about the sound levels!
